Laura graduated from Northern College’s Veterinary Assistant program in 2005 and went directly into the Veterinary Technician program at Seneca College. After graduating in 2007, she worked in a busy downtown Toronto veterinary clinic for 5 years. Laura then  completed her RLAT designation and spent time working in research
at the University of Toronto and the Imperial College of London. 

It goes without saying that Laura is an animal lover. Recently, she and her husband were excited to bring a puppy into their family. Huey, a mini cream long-hair dachshund, is quite the handful but he makes them smile every day. 

Laura has been with McCarthy & Sons Service since 2017 and has maintained her license as a Registered Veterinary Technician for 13 years. Being an RVT on the sales side, Laura loves knowing that she is still helping animals. 

“I sell products that I know help improve the quality of care for patients. One of my favorite items is the Tonovet Plus. I constantly hear stories from DVMs sharing how they helped save the eyesight of an animal by getting an accurate pressure reading. When you have a tool you can trust, you know you can trust your readings and your diagnosis. It is fantastic to see how technology keeps advancing in animal health care.”

Outside of work, Laura loves to stay active, whether that is taking HIIT classes, running, biking or hiking as she finds the movement of the body therapeutic. Also on Laura’s personal therapy list is good coffee, good food, good times with friends and being near the water and nature.
